It is a truly remarkable achievement for any club, organization or society to be in existence for one hundred years. Cefn Green Hall, situated in the heart of Cefn Cribwr is one such place.
This absolute gem of a community facility has served the people of the village since 1924. A proven asset, the people who established the Green Hall and the management right the way up to the present day, really need to be praised for their unstinting efforts.
A plethora of diverse events take place at the hall. It is a unique part of the Cefn Cribwr community’s fabric and an integral part of what makes south Wales culture what it is.
It was an absolute privilege to accept the invitation by Cllr. Huw David and attend the centenary celebrations. I was amazed by the story of the ‘Hall’ and how it has met the needs of the people of Cefn Cribwr and beyond.
Those who I was fortunate enough to meet, are doing their community proud and a credit to the hall, their village and indeed, epitomise our nation.
Well done to everyone at the Green Hall, both past and present. It was a complete pleasure to meet you all and learn so much about the Green Hall, how it evolved and the village of Cefn Cribwr.
Here’s to the next hundred years.
