From a little acorn in 2009, members of Bois Goetre-Hen Choir slowly gather from all over the County Borough of Bridgend and its surrounding areas. Tonight I visited Maesteg Town Hall for their fifteenth anniversary concert.
It was an excellent evening of musicality. The ranges in age mirrored the diversity in musical pieces sang by the choir. They clearly delighted in making music and the audience were equally delighted to enjoy the stunning musical feast.
The brilliant voice of Siwan Henderson was new to many, but will be remembered and followed from now on. Ms Henderson is from Pontyclun and graduated in Musical Theatre, from Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in 2018. In the seven years since, which included the intervention of Covid, her star has certainly risen. Appearing in several productions at Porthcawl Grand Pavilion, there have been performances at several London’s famed theatres. No wonder – what a voice!
The evening was so professionally compered by Lee Jukes of 106.3 Bridge FM Radio.
Llongyfarchiadau to all involved - Musical Director Dale Evans, Deputy Musical Director Rhys Davies, also all the musicians Cambria String Quartet, backstage crew for sound, lighting which enhanced the whole experience. Management Committee of Bois Goetrehen Male Choir – a great job!
