Acting. It’s a cutthroat and incredibly difficult line of employment. Luck can be as much a driving factor in finding long-term work and possible fame, as talent itself.
Maesteg and the wider Llynfi valley is a hotbed of culture. We are unbendingly proud of our cultural heritage. To supplement this we have an exciting organisation to support all young people who are seeking out an acting career or any other mode of employment in creative industries. From lighting engineers, to make-up artists; sound engineers to front of house staff.
It's My Shout is an independent film production company and training scheme in Wales, providing training for all interested in gaining experience in the creative industry or film.
Today I attended a showing of the short films produced for BBC Wales, and S4C - at the film theatre at Maesteg Town Hall. It was a fabulous evening not only showcasing our brilliant new Maesteg venue - but the incredible talent of everyone in front of and behind the camera - who created the professional, powerful and thought provoking series of films.
It was a privilege and pleasure to view. Llongyfarchiadau pawb.
