When it comes to venues, there are none better than Maesteg Town Hall. A landmark that is as much a part of the daily lives of the town's and Llynfi valley people, as Mynydd Pwll yr Iwrch. It is a constant in our lives. Consequently, there is no better place for a son of the Llynfi to hold a Gala Concert, to end my term as Mid-Glamorgan's High Sheriff.
Tickets for the concert which takes place on Friday, March 14th are priced at just £10.
Hosted by star musical performer and radio host Beverley Humphries MBE DL, you will be entertained by truly supreme artists.
Maesteg lad Rhydian Jenkins has begun to carve out a magnificent singing career. Extraordinarily, Rhydian has yet to perform in his home town. This will change on March 14th, as Rhydian has generously been granted time off by his employers, Koln Opera, to fulfil this wish.
Bridgend Male Voice Choir who have been the guest choir at many of the events I attended and constantly perform to a high level, will also appear to enhance the wider Mid-Glamorgan theme.
Last, but no means least, Maesteg's Noteworthy. A most brilliant band of expert local singers, all with long-standing, cherished links to the Town Hall, whose blend of voices really must be heard by all music lovers.
Proceeds from the concert will support my chosen charity - Dallaglio's Rugby Works. An excellent charity that changes lives of young people.
I look forward to seeing you for what will be, an excellent evening.
