As a near life-long member of the organisation, I was pleased to support St John Ambulance Cymru at a Christmas Carol Concert in aid of St John of Jerusalem Eye Hospital, St John the Baptist, Cardiff City Centre Church.
The eye hospital in Jerusalem was established 130 years ago and has been caring for patients regardless of their race, creed, ethnicity or financial standing, which may affect their ability to pay for treatment. The true meaning of faith, hope and compassion if ever it needs defining and preventing the darkness of blindness, certainly creates a world of light for us all.
It was such an enjoyable evening of top notch musical talent from the National St John Ambulance Cymru Choir, Côr Heol y March and the sumptuousness bass "Rolls-Royce" voice of Anthony Stuart Lloyd.
Conducted by Reverend Canon Sarah Jones, the service proved a beautiful experience, in an equally beautiful setting.
Llongyfarchiadau pawb.
Many thanks to Dr Akraim Baig, Hospitaller of the Priory of Wales for the kind invitation to attend. It was great to meet up with my Shrievalty and Lieutenancy colleagues.
