Carers Week: 10-16th June
The "Putting Carers on the Map" initiative, saw me celebrating the crucial role unpaid carers play in support of their family, friends or neighbours.
The new home of the Bridgend Carers Centre at Bethlehem Church Life Centre, Cefn Cribwr. Over tea, sandwiches and an excellent Celebration Cake; I had a warm welcome from current carers learning about the challenges and joys of caring for loved ones.
The staff are full of energy, enthusiasm and provide an unbelievable range of services to carers - thank you for your hard work and that of the Trustees.
As a carer, I cannot recommend Bridgend Carers Centre enough. It is all too easy to forget the enormous challenges we face when caring for our loved ones, the financial, physical, mental, isolation - and reluctance to seek support for so many reasons.
Yesterday, I saw what help is available. You the carers, only have to ask - and you will receive the same warm welcome and understanding that I received.
Please don't delay any longer, the support is there - check it out!
The official opening of the BCC is on Monday 17th June 11am - 1pm. Drop in and visit them! Bridgend Carers Centre Maesteg Town Council Bridgend County Borough Council.
Once again, thank you to the Bridgend Carers Centre and even more importantly, all you carers who do such invaluable work.
